Our Chicken
Meet the Freedom Birds.
Same breed you'd find at the store. Completely different life. Here's exactly how they're raised, with nothing left out.

On pasture
New ground. Every day.
Freedom Birds are Cornish Cross broilers raised on regeneratively managed, irrigated pasture. They live in Joel Salatin–style chicken tractors: open-bottom pens that we move to fresh ground every single day.
- Fresh forage
- Clean ground
- Sunshine
- Fresh air
- Natural behavior, every day
The feed
No corn. No soy.
Pasture is the salad bar, but birds still need feed. Ours is non-GMO organic feed, mixed locally, made from five ingredients. That’s the whole list.
Sorghum
Drought-hardy grain
Milled Peas
Plant protein, not soy
Barley
Whole grain energy
Wheat
Locally grown grain
Organic Sunflower Seed Oil
Cold-milled
Our feed is organic. Our birds are not certified organic.
We’d rather tell you exactly what’s true than stretch a label.
Air-chilled
Pay for chicken, not water.
Most chicken is cooled down in a big tank of chilled water, and it soaks some of that water up. Ours is cooled with cold air instead. No chill water absorbed, so the weight you pay for is chicken.
- Firmer
- texture
- Crisper
- skin
- Cleaner
- flavor
