About

It started on less than an acre.

Alex Srinivasan, founder of Freedom Ag and the Freedom Farming movement. Treasure Valley, Idaho.

PLACEHOLDER: Alex to rewrite

I got into this because I was fed up. Fed up with not knowing how my food was raised, where it was processed, or who was making money off it. The more I learned about how most chicken in this country is produced, the less I wanted to eat it, and the more I wanted to build something better.

So I started small. Freedom Farming began as a proof of concept: a few chicken tractors on less than an acre of a homeowner’s land here in the Treasure Valley. Move the birds every day. Feed them right. Process them close to home. It worked. It proved you don’t need a big farm or big money to raise real food.

That’s what Freedom Ag is built on. We raise Freedom Birds the right way, and we’re building a network of Freedom Farmers, people who want to farm and landowners with ground that isn’t doing anything, to bring pasture-raised food back to their communities.

This isn’t a brand that happens to have a mission. It’s a movement that happens to sell chicken. If you’re buying from us, you’re part of it.

Freedom Ag is the farm. Freedom Farming is the movement.

What we believe

  • 01

    Food sovereignty

A community should be able to feed itself. Not depend on a handful of corporations and a long supply chain.

  • 02

    Regenerative agriculture

Farming should leave the land better than it found it. Daily moves, rested pasture, healthier soil.

  • 03

    Independent farms

More farmers, not fewer. Small, independent operations owned by the people who work them.

  • 04

    Honest claims you can verify

We only say what's true and what you can check. If we're not certified something, we won't hint that we are.
