Pasture-raised in the Treasure Valley, Idaho

Real chicken. Real pasture. Real freedom.

Raised on Idaho pasture. Moved to fresh grass every single day. Processed close to home.

  • Moved to fresh pasture daily
  • No corn
  • No soy
  • Air-chilled
  • Processed 25 miles from pasture
  • Raised in Idaho

This is what chicken is supposed to be.

Somewhere along the way, chicken got turned into a factory product. We’re raising it the way it should be: outside, on real feed, processed close to home.

  • Fresh pasture every day

Our chicken tractors move to new ground every single day. Fresh grass, clean ground, sunshine, fresh air.

  • No corn. No soy.

Non-GMO organic feed, mixed locally from sorghum, peas, barley, wheat, and sunflower oil.

  • Processed 25 miles away

Under USDA inspection, about 25 miles from the pasture. A short, calm trip on the last day.

  • Air-chilled

Never chlorine-bathed. No chill water soaked up, so you pay for chicken, not water.

Fresh grass. Every. Single. Day.

Our Freedom Birds live in Joel Salatin–style chicken tractors that move to fresh pasture every single day. New forage to peck at. Clean ground under their feet. Sunshine and fresh air. That’s it. That’s the secret.

Meet the Freedom Birds

The birds move every day. That one habit changes everything.

How we do it

From chick to your table

  1. Day-old chicks under red heat lamps in the brooder, gathered around feeders and waterers
    01

    Chicks

Day-old chicks arrive and start out warm and safe in the brooder.

  2. Young Freedom Birds on fresh grass inside a backyard chicken tractor, with the wheeled dolly used to move it
    02

    Pasture, moved daily

Out to pasture in chicken tractors. New ground every single day.

  3. 03

    Processing

A short, calm trip, about 25 miles, to USDA-inspected processing. Then air-chilled.

  4. 04

    Your table

Straight from our farm to your kitchen. You know exactly where it came from.

The land gets better, not worse.

Every day the birds fertilize a fresh strip of pasture, then move on and let it rest. The grass comes back. The soil gets healthier. The land does the work it’s supposed to do.

How Daily Moves Work

Freedom Farming

A handful of giant companies control our food. We’re building the alternative.

Independent farms are disappearing. Food sovereignty means your community can feed itself without asking permission from a corporation three states away. Every bird we raise is a vote for that.

The Freedom Farmers

Have land? Want to farm? Join us.

You don’t need a big farm or big money to raise real food. We started on less than an acre. We’ll show you how, and we’ll help match people who want to farm with land that isn’t being used.

From the founder

“I got tired of not knowing where my food came from. So I started raising it.”

I’m Alex Srinivasan. Freedom Ag started with a few chicken tractors on less than an acre of somebody’s backyard in the Treasure Valley. It worked. Now we’re building a network of farmers and landowners doing the same thing.

The whole story, in one paragraph

Cornish Cross birds on regeneratively managed, irrigated pasture. Moved every day. No corn, no soy. Processed under USDA inspection about 25 miles from where they were raised. Air-chilled. From an independent Idaho farm, not a corporate integrator.
